Humanity is a fickle being; it can be anything from a blessing to a curse. On the one hand, it is a dreaded blight on the Earth that has managed to destroy the environment in our incessant and blatant search for profit. It has also provided us with consciousness, and the knowledge that, sadly, cruelty is an integral part of human nature. Ranging from genocide and infanticide to improper grammar, consciousness shows us the world as it truly is, though generally through the lenses of bias, and reflects our qualities, invulnerabilities, and skills. On the other hand, our humanity has provided us with useful tools such as our innate creativity, problem solving, and curiosity. These inherent human qualities have led us to question the world around us and the very foundations of society, create cities where there once was plains, tremendous skyscrapers that tower over us, change the terrestrial climate in ways we do not understand, and has even permitted us to travel into the last true frontier: space.
